Women are the strongest, yet most unappreciated beings on earth. As women, we endure SO MUCH. From a young age, we are taught how ladies are to conduct themselves. We should be proper. We should be seen… but not heard.

When young girls reach high school, we begin to receive judgment from our peers. But it doesn’t stop there. Not only are we judged based on our appearances and our attitudes, but sometimes the career paths we choose. By the time we reach adulthood, many of subconsciously place ourselves in a box. Some of us struggle with self-esteem issues or are ashamed because we don’t fit society’s image of the ideal woman. We try to enhance ourselves to look the way the world tells us we should look. When in all actuality, we are perfect just the way we are.

It is not uncommon for women to hold down full time jobs, all while attending school and taking care of children. The sad part, however, is that more often than not, they are doing so while struggling and neglect to ask for help in fear of judgment or being deemed a burden. As women, knowing where some of our sisters are, we should constantly try to encourage one another and lift one another up.

No matter where any of you are, and no matter what your situation is, remember that you rock! As long as you are doing your best, you are rocking it! My mom often tells me it is not how you start the race, but how you finish it is what counts. God gives us the strength to withstand all that the world throws at us. So hold your head up. Finish the race. And remember... you rock!
