As we all know, the holidays are quickly approaching. People are putting up Christmas trees, decorating their homes, preparing for family visits, and the best part of all, especially for the kids, waiting on presents. As the old saying goes, “it’s the most wonderful time of the year!” However, for some, this is possibly the absolute worst time of year. Many people begin to experience feelings of depression, defeat, and just pure sadness. They may have lost loved ones, moved away and are forced to spend the holidays away from loved ones, or don’t have any family at all with which to share the holiday season. For others, it’s possible that life hit extremely hard this year and they don’t have the money to buy presents or to spend the holidays the way they want. In any case, remember, you are never alone, and this season is temporary. God is always with you. Even when times get tough, hold on tight. Cherish past memories and think of the things that make you smile and laugh. Remember the traditions you created and the things that have kept you happy. Push through. For those of us who have family members or friends who may be experiencing a difficult time this holiday season, please, reach out; invite them over. A small gesture goes a long way, even if it’s just a simple call to say, “Happy Holidays”. For those of you who know me and need someone to talk to, I am always only a phone call away and am always here to help. Let’s truly make this the most wonderful time of year for everyone this year. I hope you all have an enjoyable holiday season!
